Abstract
To the Editor: We recently encountered agranulocytosis in association withhydroxychloroquinec (Plaquenil) therapy in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis. A review of the Index edicuss through Octobe,. 1966, disclosed 2 previous reports ofthbis association.1 , 2*A 49-year-old cabinetmaker entered the hospital on August 28, 1966, for evaluation and trantmetl of low-back pain and recurrent joint inflammation. Hehbad suffered from rheumatoid arthritis for 4 years, andhbad been on low-dose steroids fo 3 yeas. In addiion h had exprienced a epsode of possible vsculiis a year before admission, manifested by congestive heart failure and peripheral nerve and muscle impairment of the lower extrtimees. . . .Keywords
