Abstract
The low-field polaron mobility at weak and intermediate coupling has been studied in the framework of a self-consistent equation-of-motion approach developed earlier by the present authors. It is shown that the possibility of internal excitations of polarons leads to a decrease of the mobility at relatively strong coupling. The theoretical results are compared with previous theoretical work and with experimental results in the case of AgBr, AgCl, KBr, and KCl in the temperature range where electron-LO-phonon scattering is predominant. Keywords
