Abstract
The relative laboratory differential cross section for the scattering of atomic U by Kr is determined at a collision energy of 0.10 eV. The cross section is absolutely calibrated by measurement of the fraction of the U beam scattered to 10° LAB and the Kr beam flux. The U–Kr momentum transfer cross section of 46.5+4.4−8.1 Å2 corresponds to an effective U atom radius of 2.43 Å.Keywords
