Abstract
The special features of the quantum theory of the longitudinal electromagnetic field originated from the supplementary condition are discussed in connection with the vacuum expectation value of the bilinear form in the electromagnetic potentials. The present investigation confirms the view that the unified treatment of the electromagnetic field is valid for gauge-invariant integrals. Keywords
