Abstract
It is shown that under lightlike translations the matrix elements of local operators between suitable states decrease asymptotically faster than any inverse power of the amount of translations. This result is used to establish the vacuum annihilation property of "lightlike charges." The physical basis of these asymptotic behaviors is discussed, and the circumstances under which these can be associated with the propagation of the virtual hadrons in a projectile are analyzed. Keywords
