Abstract
The results of cyclotron-resonance measurements in high-purity samples of thallium are reported. The measurements were performed at a microwave frequency of 34 GHz in the Azbel'-Kaner geometry with the effective-mass values being calculated from the periodicity of the subharmonic-resonance series observed. The anisotropy of the effective masses in all three principal planes were measured, and the various mass branches are assigned to orbits occurring on both parts of the third-zone, the fourth-zone, and the fifth-zone sheets of the Fermi surface. Considerable effects of magnetic breakdown are observed and a discussion of these effects is given. Keywords
