Abstract
The helicon waves in p- and n-type PbTe crystals under various values of static magnetic field were observed at 4.2°K by the oscillation method and the resonance method. The frequency of the helicon wave is proportional to the strength of the static magnetic field, in good agreement with theoretical prediction. By the resonance method the helicon waves with higher modes are clearly observed. The helicon waves in PbTe crystals of rather high purity are also observed by this method. Keywords
