Abstract
Expts. with albino rats showed that when 1 adrenal gland is removed the cortex of the other gland undergoes a compensatory hypertrophy, which can be suppressed by the adm. of adrenal cortex extract. Probably the hypertrophy is dependent upon the stimulation by an ant. pituitary hormone which is not produced unless there is an absence of sufficient cortical hormone. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
