Abstract
The source of carbon fibre properties is outlined, and the measurement of mechanical properties, strength, modulus, density, yield, size content and processability discussed. The dispersion in properties is introduced, and a summary given of the strength and moduli of current high-performance fibres. Some experimental fibres are mentioned. Keywords
