Abstract
The optical absorption of K2NiF4 single crystal has been studied and the characteristic spectrum of Ni2+ in octahedral field of F- ligands is observed. The bands are assigned to various excited levels of Ni2+ in O h symmetry and values of the crystal field parameters B, C and Dq are found to be 965, 4135 and 755 cm-1 respectively. Keywords
