Abstract
A technique was developed which permits incubation of large quantities of rabbit spleen cells in vitro. Under these conditions net synthesis of precipitating antibody against bovine serum albumin occurred. The amount of antibody formed corresponded closely to the amount obtained after transfer of spleen cells to non-immunized recipients in vivo. It seems that the success of this technique was due to the prevention of damage by agitation and to provisions for adequate nutrition and aerobic metabolism of the cells. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
