Abstract
The Cu and Pd - x-ray spectra of have been measured by recording the photoelectron spectra they excite from the C level of graphite. They are compared with x-ray photoemission spectra of the conduction band. The comparison shows that the Cu band extends over the whole width of the alloy conduction band in agreement with the predictions of self-consistent-field Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker coherent-potential-approximation band-structure calculations. The Cu x-ray spectra of are accompanied by double-ionization satellites which show and quasiatomic components.
