Abstract
THAT THE MOST efficacious method of managing exophthalmic goiter in childhood still remains debatable is evidenced by a review of the literature. Opinions vary from those favoring immediate surgical treatment in all cases1 to those advocating only medical management.2 Still others believe that radiation procedures produce as good results as surgical intervention.3 As to roentgen ray therapy, there is nothing conclusive in the literature to indicate its importance in childhood.
