Abstract
Radioactive Bayer L 13/59 was prepared from red phosphorus32 and DDVP by dehydrochlorination of this L 13/59. Both insecticides were readily absorbed through the cervical membrane by Periplaneta americana. Distribution of L 13/59 was widespread, the hemo-lymph and all tissues being radioactive. After 20 hr. most of the radioactivity was in the gut. The hemolymph of the DDVP-treated insects did not become demonstrably radioactive and many tissues were only slightly so. Much activity was concentrated in the heart, but after 22 hr. most of the activity was in the fat body and only a small quantity in the gut. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
