Radiative Decay of Core Excitons in Alkali Halides

Abstract
The soft x-ray emission spectra for fresh films of LiF, LiCl, and LiBr are presented. Prominent structures in these spectra above the emission edge are shown to give a direct observation of the radiative decay of -shell cation excitons in these materials.
