Abstract
Acanthosis nigricans of the groin, axillae, and neck developed in a patient on long-term steroid therapy for dermatomyositis after 8 yr. The dermatosis resolved spontaneously 10 yr after the steroid use had been discontinued. Review of 3 cases and the literature suggests that acanthosis nigricans may have a hormonal basis. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
