Abstract
The proportion of adult hemoglobin in the blood of the human fetus from the 10th to the 43rd week of pregnancy was measured. Adult hemoglobin is first present at the 13th week. It rises slowly at first so that at the 22d-24th weeks 10% of the hemoglobin is adult After the 35th week the proportion of adult hemoglobin rises steadily. By 42 weeks a mean value of 30.7% is found. Keywords
