Abstract
Slow high‐field domains which, move without deformation through a semiconductor are discussed. The domain velocity is obtained by various methods: by starting from linearized differential equations, by using the properties of singular points and by numerical calculations. Furthermore, the latter calculations show that slowly moving symmetrical domains are possible. For this special case the system of nonlinear differential equations is solved by using a method due to Volkov. Keywords
