Abstract
Psychological research on physical appearance remains predominantly the study of physical attractiveness as a trait dimension. This perspective ignores the fact that most persons actively modify their appearance across time and situations by means of self-grooming or self-adornment, for example, as many females do by use of cosmetics. To document and facilitate research from the perspective that appearance is not merely a fixed trait, this bibliography of psychological studies, reviews, and commentaries is provided. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
