Abstract
The Effectiveness of Distribution Protection Working Group of the IEEE Power System Relaying Committee analyzed the protection, control, and operating practices of 124 distribution systems through a series of three questionnaires. A data base was established which gives some indication as to how well modern distribution protection systems are performing, as well as providing a bench mark for determining future design and operational trends. Keywords
