Abstract
Two dogs received Au in the form of Na aurothiomalate and of aurothioglucose daily for a total of 3 wks. Detns. of rose bengal clearance, alkaline phosphatase, and direct and indirect quantitative van den Bergh revealed no pathologic changes in liver function. These observations do not support the view that the ameliorating effect of Au therapy in rheumatoid arthritis is due to the effect of Au on the liver. Keywords
