Abstract
Composite models of the flow rate and pressure profiles in modular intermeshing corotating and tangenital counter‐rotating twin screw extruders are developed. The simulation of the intermeshing corotating machine involves both screw and kneading disc elements, including left‐ and right‐handed sections. The conditions under which starvation behavior develops in sections of the screws are discussed. Keywords
