Invasion percolation in an external field: dielectric breakdown in random media

Abstract
The authors propose a model to describe electric discharge in inhomogeneous insulators by introducing an external Laplacian field in the invasion percolation model. The patterns generated have a fractal structure with a tunable fractal dimension.Keywords
