Abstract
An apparatus was described for the continuous exposure of rats to low O2 tension at normal atmospheric pressure. It can be constructed easily and inexpensively. Equations are given for the calculation of the fraction of O2 in the tank. The fraction of O2 in the tank found by analysis was within 5% of the theoretical value. The method described also has the advantage of enabling one to calculate the rate of O2 consumption of the rats at "altitude".Keywords
