Abstract
Anaesthesia with a combination of diazepam and pentazocine is compared with the well established technique of neuroleptanaesthesia using droperidol and fentanyl. The former compared favourably, producing similar cardiovascular stability, rapid recovery of conciousness and postoperative analgesia. Keywords
