Abstract
The satellites appearing in the core regions of the x-ray photoelectron spectra of alkali fluorides have been investigated in order to obtain information about the distribution of interband transitions. The photoemission results are compared with some recent theoretical band-structure calculations. The differences in the relative intensities observed in the different core regions are ascribed to the presence of excitons in the spectra. Keywords
