Über die Trennung von Co-Ferment T und Phosphatase.

Abstract
A phosphatase, capable of hydrolyzing hexosedi-phosphoric acid, was found in the coenzyme preparations from the grey matter of the brain. Al(OH)3 adsorbed an inhibitory substance which had to be removed before the phosphatase could act. The presence of this inhibitory substance was responsible for the failure of certain tissues to glucolyze glycogen and not the absence of the phosphatase system. Dialysis resulted in a fair separation of the coenzyme from the phosphatase, the coenzyme being readily diffusible. Selective separation of the coenzyme on Al(OH)3 and elution with dilute NaHCO3 gave a still better separation. The phosphatase was unadsorbed.
