Abstract
Elastic scattering of electrons by lithium atoms has been investigated by using an integral form of the adiabatic exchange approach. The effect of the polarisation potential has been included in the sense of Temkin's approach. Results for the differential cross sections at the incident electron energies 5, 10, 20 and 60 eV have been calculated and comparisons have been made with the recent experimental results of Williams et al. (1976). Results for integrated elastic cross sections have also been reported. Qualitative agreement between the present results and the measured values has been obtained. Keywords
