Abstract
Ten species of wheatgrasses ( Agropyron ) were screened in a field nursery for tolerance to feeding by a grass bug Labops hesperius Uhler. The following factors were compared between infested and noninfested plants: number of culms per plant; percentage of abnormal seed heads; seed production; seed weight; seed germination; forage production; and percentage leaf damage. Tall, slender intermediate, and pubescent wheatgrasses appeared to be somewhat tolerant to grass bug feeding at densities used in the test. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
