Abstract
An expt. with 40 rats showed no thyroid enlargement in animals fed on a basal diet of cornmeal, rolled oats, distilled water; CaCl2 added to basal diet resulted in thyroid enlargement, acinar hyperplasia, loss of colloid; further addition of 10 to 100 times physiological requirements of I resulted in colloid goiter. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
