Abstract
A procedure for designing a fuzzy controller using a high-dimensional numerical optimization algorithm is presented. The effectiveness of an optimization program for designing a fuzzy controller is determined, and the relationship between membership functions and controller performance is discussed. The proposed method is applied to the blood pressure regulation problem as a case study. Keywords
