Abstract
The mass spectral pattern coefficients and sensitivities of the individual tritium-substituted methanes, CH3T, CH2T2, CHT3, and CT4, were computed from the mass spectra of mixtures of tritium and methane which were undergoing isotopic exchange. Isotope effects in the ionization and dissociation of the various molecules were determined and compared with those observed in deuterium-substituted compounds. The following isotope parameters were found: for CH3T, Γ=1.23, π=0.62; for CH2T2, Γ=1.53, π0.50; for CHT3, Γ=2.61, π0.57; for CT4, π=0.92.Keywords
