Abstract
Summary: A case is described of lactic acidosis and hyperamylasaemia in a diabetic with impaired renal function treated with phenformin. Despite normal blood pressure and adequate tissue perfusion, the patient succumbed. No evidence of pancreatitis could be found at autopsy.Keywords
