Abstract
Simple methods of paper chromatog-raphy developed by Sjoval were applied to a search for bile acids conjugated with glycine in the bile salts of 7 spp. of fish and 8 spp. of birds and to the examination of the crude bile salts of a number of vertebrates. No glycine conjugates were found in the fish and birds examined. Some implications of the results were discussed. Keywords
