Abstract
A microbiologic assay method, utilizing Leuconostoc mesenteroides Pd-60. In general, the basal medium and technique employed by J. C. Lewis (J. Biot. Chem., 1942. 146, 441) can be used, but with the fbllowing differences: The assay tubes should be incubated at 37[degree] C for 15 hrs. One-tenth millimicrogram of p-aminobenzoic acid/ml. of medium gives maximum growth. The extent of growth must be detd. turbimetrically, since the organism does not produce large amts. of lactic acid. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
