Abstract
ACUTE hemorrhagic pancreatitis has proved fatal to 2 patients after renal homotransplantation at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital. They had received substantiell immunosuppressive therapy for nine and eleven months respectively. This lethal complication of transplantation and immunosuppression has not previously been described. The relation of pancreatitis to various aspects in the care of these patients will be considered.Case ReportsD.P. (P.B.B.H. 0–92–44) was discovered to have congenital bladder-neck obstruction and a nonfunctioning left kidney when he was 5 years old, and surgical correction was attempted.
