Abstract
Six manno-oligosaccharides were isolated from the partial acid hydrolysate of pronase-treated extracellular glycan (pt-ACE-II) of A. cylindrospora by gel filtration on Bio Gel P-2 and descending paper chromatography. The pentasaccharide and the higher MW oligosaccharides significantly inhibited the precipitation reaction of intracellular glycans from A. cylindrospora (ACI-B), M. hiemalis (MhI-B) and R. nigricans (RnI-B) with [rabbit] anti-ACE serum. Structural analysis showed that these 6 oligosaccharides were composed of linear (1 .fwdarw. 6)-.alpha.-linked mannopyranosyl residues. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
