Abstract
With the availability of clomiphene citrate and human gonadotropins, it is now possible to induce ovulation in the majority of women whose infertility results from failure to ovulate; accordingly, it is extremely important to avoid doing so unless the patient wishes to become pregnant. The physiologic basis for the effectiveness of these agents is detailed, as are the situations in which their use is inappropriate. Keywords
