Local magnetization of Fe in Ag

Abstract
The Mössbauer effect of Fe57 in Ag has been measured for 30 mK<T<60 K in external fields up to 60 kG. The local susceptibility for AgFe derived from the hyperfine fields shows a single Curie-Weiss behavior above 1 K with a Curie-Weiss temperature Θ=1.6 K. At lower temperatures the susceptibility levels off to a constant value in form of a T2 law in agreement with recent theoretical expectations. The magnetization curves cannot be satisfactorily represented by a modified Brillouin function.
