Abstract
The life history and development of Rhodochorton concrescens in culture have been investigated. Successive generations of tetrasporangium-bearing plants are produced in all environmental conditions tested. There is no cytological or morphological evidence for sexual reproduction in this species. The plants form a pseudoparenchymatous basal disc when in contact with a chitinous substrate; one type of glass substrate also induces the response. Keywords
