Abstract
The biotransformation of 17-hydroxyprogesterone-4-C14 and 3β, 17-dihydroxy-Δ5-pregnene-20-one-7α-H3 administered simultaneously was studied in a patient with adrenal carcinoma. The specific activities of the metabolites studied varied widely from each other. 3β,17-Dihydroxy-Δ5-pregnene-20-one appeared to be the major precursor of urinary pregnane-3α,17,20α-triol in this patient; the evidence indicated that compound(s) other than 3β, 17-dihydroxy-Δ5-pregnene-20-one contributed to Δ5-pregnene-3β, 17,20α triol. 3β,17-Dihydroxy-Δ5-pregnene-20-one-7α-H3 was also studied in a “normal” subject. Keywords
