Abstract
A series of novel polyacrylates and polymethacrylates with pendant carbazole groups has been prepared. In these polymers the carbazole groups are separated from the polymer backbone by alkyl spacers of variable length. The title compounds have been prepared by two different methods: free radical polymerization of the corresponding acrylates and methacrylates and a novel polymeranalogous reaction of ω-hydroxyalkylcarbazoles with poly(meth)acryloylchloride. Keywords
