Proteolipid from Beef Heart Muscle

Abstract
Fluffy layer was separated from beef heart muscle according to the method of Folch and Lees in 1951, which was follow ed by dialysis against chloroform-methanol (2: 1 v/v). About 60 per cent of the total phosphorus of the fluff diffused out by this. dialysis. The proteolipid prepared from the non-dialyzable remainder had a nature of the phospholipid-protein complex which was soluble in chloroform-methanol (2: 1 v/v).
