Abstract
A general nonlinear mathematical model of synchronous machines is normalized using the principle of equal mmf for magnetically coupled coils. By introducing both static and dynamic magnetic permeance matrices to simulate the magnetic saturation a salient-pole machine model is derived. Examples of numerical simulation are given to verify the model and its applications. The demagnetization effect between mmfs on the different axes is shown to be negligible in salientpole machines. Keywords
