Abstract
Normal urine samples from men, rats and rabbits were found to contain glucose combined with some acetone body and both glucose and acetone can be set free from these samples on hydrolysis with HC1. Diabetic urine, on the other hand, does not seem to contain glucose in the combined form. Possibility of the existance of a new pathway of glucose utilization and ketolysis in the normal system was suggested. Keywords
