Abstract
A method which measures blood concns. of corticosterone-like steroids and 17-hydroxycorticosterone was employed to determine the plasma concns. of these steroids in humans following a single oral dose of 17-hydroxycorticosterone. A rapid increase of plasma concn. of this steroid occurred in 5 of 6 subjects; max. levels were attained 45-60 min. after admn. The plasma concn. of this steroid decreased rapidly thereafter, reaching normal values at 4-6 hrs. No significant elevation in plasma concn. of the corticoster one -like steroids could be detected following the oral admn. of 17-hydroxycorticosterone.Keywords
