Abstract
After irradiation, guinea pig spleen shows a progressive reduction in alkaline phosphatase staining starting on the 3rd post-irradiation day and reaching a maximum on about the 9th day. In animals treated with cell-free spleen extracts, these changes did not develop. The protection of phosphorylization processes against effects of irradiation may represent a radiation protection mechanism. Keywords
