Abstract
Two prototype columns used as the basic unit in a thermal diffusion cascade for the final enrichment of oxygen‐17 are described. An analysis of transient data from these two columns is made. Column parameters derived from this analysis are compared with parameters calculated from theory, using the Lennard‐Jones (12/6) model. Discrepancies between observed and calculated column performance are discussed. Keywords
