Abstract
A study of the prevalence and epidemiology of Panton-Valentine leukocidin–producing Staphylococcus aureus in a tertiary public hospital was conducted. The incidence of gene carriage among S. aureus strains causing disease was 11.6%. Results were significant for the higher incidence of gene carriage, compared with those found in previous studies. Keywords
