Abstract
Biological and physicochemical factors have been reported to be important determinants in how an animal responds to a carcinogenic agent. Examples of these factors are presented. When one considers the multiplicity of these factors as well as the lack of knowledge concerning the actual mechanisms of carcinogenic action, it becomes extremely difficult to estimate thresholds, perhaps impossible at present. Keywords
